Events in 2021
CITiZAN archaeologists are holding events all around England. Come see when we'll next be in your area and join us!
- A creative exploration of culture and coastal resilience with British-Irish Council members and critical heritage partners. Virtually traversing a range of coastal communities and initiatives, this event will examine the human experience of our coastal heritage, tangible and intangible, in the UK and beyond.
- Our previous archaeological surveys of the fish traps have concentrated on the foreshore north of the public carpark, where we've found fish traps dating, possibly, back to the late 18th century. We've never surveyed to the south however so this weekend we'll be 'fieldwalking' there to see what we can find. We may not find much at all, but this in itself will be useful archaeological information!
- Three of the UK’s coastal community research projects have pulled together to share how our coasts and those who live along our shoreline face and understand the changes, risks and challenges brought on by climate change. The 12 short films we've shot show how climate change is affecting heritage now.
- Join us for a 90-minute walk through history at Cudmore Grove Country Park, home to some amazing and enigmatic intertidal archaeology.
