Events in 2015
CITiZAN archaeologists are holding events all around England. Come see when we'll next be in your area and join us!
- The banks of the River Stour on the Shotley peninsula will play host to CITiZAN's first training event in Suffolk. The team will be surveying the timber remains of a large post medieval jetty structure, the Palace Quay, as well as investigating whether any remains of the ancient St Clement's Chapel (noted in the Doomsday Book) are eroding from the river bank.
- Join us and scientists from across the UK and NW Europe for a conference on the sea level and coastal changes. Tickets for this event are found online at Event Brite.
- CITiZAN south west will be joining up with the Heritage Open Days in Gosport. CITiZAN will be displaying at Fort Brockhurst from the 10th - 12th September 2015 and providing guided walks around Forton lake discussing the history of the lake and the vessel remains which can still be seen today.
- CITiZAN will be at the Old Low Light, North Shields, to talk about the project and the plans they have in the North-East in regards to training and outreach.
- CITiZAN south west will be working with Lepe country park staff and the Friends of Lepe to set up a monitoring programme for the WWII D-Day remains and terrace deposits of the extinct Solent River.
