Low Tide Trails
The formal opening of the England Coast Path in 2020 is not just good news for walkers and nature-lovers: it’s also a major event for our coastal heritage. This is because that national trail gives access to a major open-air museum, the wealth of archaeological features exposed on the open foreshore, especially around our tidal estuaries.
CITiZAN has compiled a series of exciting diversions from the England Coast Path down onto the foreshore to rediscover these sites. Initially, these walks were led by the CITiZAN team, but we have also developed self-guided Low-Tide-Trails. See our events page for more details of guided Low Tide Trails taking place soon.
