Description

Remains of track from the Humber Dock dockside railway visible within the road surface.

A series of hydraulically powered capstans and ropes were used to move rolling stock around the dock. This was later replaced by agricultural tractors equipped with couplings and a plate so that they could be attached to the waggons.
