Description

Three parallel rectangular concrete structures standing on a larger concrete apron.

January 2020: The concrete plinth had become undermined due to coastal erosion and the seaward block of the structure collapsed (CITiZAN report on work on Orford Ness 2015-2018 available via our website soon)

Access to Orford Ness is restricted and visitors must stick to the paths defined by the National Trust, see https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/orford-ness-national-nature-reserve. This feature was recorded as part of a CITiZAN recording weekend, with special access granted by the National Trust. This structure is visible from the beach, following the red route extension, but this may also be restricted at times.

Recording including measured plan and elevations, and photogrammetry if possible. The coastline is extremely dynamic and the structure is nearer to the coast edge than in was in September 2015.
