The National Trust record name for this feature is J3 Coast guard station (O/S MAP 1928), Orford Ness.
The NRHE record is no 1412220, with the description: Coastguard station at Orford Ness. This was plated with armour-plating in 1915, and radio masts were erected there in 1940.
Site visit September 2016: No change was noted from the previous site visit in July 2016
Site visit 20 January 2017 - nearly all the roof panels/cladding has gone, with just the rafters left.
Site visit March 11 2018: All roof panels/cladding now gone

Access to Orford Ness is restricted and visitors must stick to the paths defined by the National Trust, see https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/orford-ness-national-nature-reserve. This feature has been recorded as part of CITiZAN recording weekends, with special access granted by the National Trust. This structure is visible from the beach, following the red route extension, but this may also be restricted at times.
