ACORN (31761)

- 552440
- Northing

Remains believed to be those of the ACORN, an ice ship beached in order to be broken up in the late 19th century, the vessel being described as a brig. If this is the case, she is likely to be identifiable with the ACORN schooner, which stranded in Lynn Roads in 1898 en route from Drammen for Grimsby with ice (928347), which was recorded as having been recovered but afterwards broken up.
Now heavily besanded and frequently entirely buried.
