Place Services day course in Maritime Archaeology

Chatham Historical Dockyard

 

Lara Band, East Kent Coast Discovery Programme Project Officer has been invited to speak at this Place Services day course on CITiZAN on the East Kent Coast Discovery Programme. 

Other speakers and subjects include

  • Peter Kendall, Principal Inspector of Ancient Monuments at Historic England on Constructive Conservation at on Chatham Dockyard
  • Heritage Consultant Heather Jermy on the conservation of the National Museum of the Royal Navy
  • Dr Michael Walsh, freelance marine archaeologist on work on Pudding Pan, a Romano-British shipwreck and the wreck of the London,a 17th century warship just off the coast at Southend.  

There will also be a tour of Chatham Historic Dockyard, a maritime museum on the site of the former royal/naval dockyard at Chatham in Kent, and one of Historic England’s Heritage Angels winners in 2018 in the category of major regeneration project.
