Conference: CIfA2018

25/04/2018  |  10 a.m.

Brighton, East Sussex

The theme for CIfA2018 is Pulling together: collaboration, synthesis, innovation and CITiZAN will have quite a presence this year.

On Thursday 26 CITiZAN South East archaeologist Lara Band and former CITiZAN North archaeologist Megan Clement are the organisers for the session Oh I do like to be beside the seaside! - Community archaeology & the coast. As well as a paper exploring how CITiZAN have worked to increase participation of 16-25 year olds in community, we'll have papers from the Home Front Legacy 1914-1918, the Maritime Archaeology Trust and the Thames Discovery Programme, all projects we've collaborated with in the past.

Later in the day Lara and CITiZAN South East archaeologist Oliver Hutchinson are also running an on-site Thursday afternoon workshop. Continuing the seaside theme we're putting on a coach trip to the seaside to go rapid recording and monitoring on the foreshore at Bishopstone Tidemills.
