App workshop: Fort Cumberland

Come and join the south-west CITiZAN team at the historic Fort Cumberland, Portsmouth for a workshop on how to rapidly record at risk archaeology on the coast. The morning will be begin with a short talk about the work of CITiZAN followed by a workshop on how to use the CITiZAN app. In the afternoon, a picnic lunch will be provided followed by a tour of Fort Cumberland (please note that some parts of the fort are currently inaccessible due to ongoing works).
This event is being organised as part of the Festival of British Archaeology. The session is free but please book in advance as places are limited. Please direct any questions about the event to Therese Kearns - tkearns@mola.org.uk
Please find a rough schedule for the day below:
10:00 - Arrival at Fort Cumberland
10:15 - 12:30 - Introduction to CITiZAN and app workshop
12:30 - 13:30 - Lunch ( we will provide a pincic so please let us know in advance of any dietary requirements).
13:30 - 14:30 - Tour of Fort Cumberland
14:30 - 15:00 - Wrap up and finish
Free parking is available on site. All visitors will need to buzz in at the front gate.
The nearest train station is Fratton which is 2.5 miles from the Fort Cumberland (approximately 10 minutes by taxi).
The number 15 bus stops on Fort Cumberland Road and is just a few minutes walk fromt the fort.
