Workshop: Coalhouse Fort Park

29/06/2016  |  10 a.m.

Thurrock, Essex

This fascinating site, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, includes the Victorian fort with its associated railway link, jetty and rifle range, as well as the foundations of an Henrician `blockhouse' built 1539/40, a late 19th century `Quick-Firer' battery and a low-level radar tower dating from World War II.

During the workshop you’ll learn more about the history of the site and develop the skills to use our mobile App to add detail to CITiZAN’s England wide interactive map of coastal and intertidal archaeology.
