Events in 2016
CITiZAN archaeologists are holding events all around England. Come see when we'll next be in your area and join us!
- This training event is specifically for 16 - 25 year olds who wish to get some hands on experience with archaeology. This is Festival of British Archaeology event, run in association with the Council of British Archaeology. We will be looking at the history of Victoria Docks, where Earles Shipyard was located and where there are now the remains of three timber hulled vessels.
- Join CITiZAN North at Maryport to help record some rapidly eroding rock cut salt working on the foreshore close to Maryport Golf Course.
- CITiZAN SE will be at the National Trust's Castaway camping weekend with guided walks and other fun things to do - more details to follow!
- Join CITiZAN for a guided walk of the archaeology of South Landing, explore the remains of the sea-going heritage and the defensive nature of the east coast of Yorkshire. This event is done in partnership with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. This event is free but please book.
- Join CITiZAN at Howick on the Northumberland coast for a training session and to help us record the remains of a rock cut bathing pool.
