CITiZAN wins at The Charity Awards
08/06/2018 | Stephanie Ostrich
CITiZAN has won a 2018 Charity Award for Arts, Culture and Heritage, recognising our network's innovation and dedication to record our fragile coastal and intertidal heritage.
Project Leader Gustav Milne and Project Officer Stephanie Ostrich exchanged their muddy wellies and boiler suits for their finest glad rags and a do in a castle – our very own CITiZAN Cinderella story!
Last week, we attended the black tie ceremony for the Charity Awards 2018 at the Tower of London where we took home the gold for Arts, Culture and Heritage. The Charity Awards is Civil Society Media’s annual awards programme held to identify, recognise and reward those organisations doing exceptional work in all areas of charitable activity.
Stephanie and Gustav presented on CITiZAN's fabulous outcomes and achievements to a Dragons' Den -like panel of 12 prestigious judges from across the voluntary sector demonstrating the impact, innovation, and best practice of our work.
It is such an honour to have the hard work of our network of archaeologists, volunteers and partners recognized by the wider charity sector!
We could not have done it without you!
Many thanks go out to all involved who have made CITiZAN a success:
- our amazing partners the Nautical Archaeology Society, Council for British Archaeology, and our project host Museum of London Archaeology
- our project supporters the Heritage Lottery Fund, National Trust, The Crown Estate, Historic England
- and especially to you, our enthusiastic network!
Thank you for your support and your dedication over the past 3 years. This award is an amazing recognition of all that you do!
