26/09/2019  |  3 p.m.

New Brighton

Come and join the CITiZAN North team for a guided Low Tide Trail of New Brighton’s coastal archaeology.

This guided walk will be an opportunity to investigate and find out about the area’s history through archaeology; looking at the town’s development as a popular tourist resort and a key strategic location in the defence of the river Mersey. The are many clues to the area’s past that sit in plain sight.

Meet us on the promenade, next to the ‘Welcome to New Brighton’ statue on Ian Fraser Walk, New Brighton, Wallasey, CH45 2NW at 3pm. The walk will take approximately 2 hours, with plenty of time for questions and opportunities to investigate the area.

We will introduce you to the Coastal and Intertidal Archaeology Network and the work we do on England's coast.

This event is free but booking is advised so that we have contact details in case of changes due to inclement weather.

Sensible clothing and footwear required as part of the route will be carried out on the foreshore.
